1. When you press the sole of your foot against the brake pedal,
the master brake cylinder responds by sending hydraulic brake fluid
to pistons in the calipers. The building pressure forces the
calipers to close brake pads onto the rotors. The pads protect
against damage from metal-on-metal contact, and also help to
disperse some of the heat generated by the act of braking.
2. The kit consists of aluminium calipers with opposed pistons
which, depending on the car model and in increasing order of
performance, may be composite, monoblock or even billet monoblock
components, combined with cross-drilled or slotted one-piece or
composite oversized discs.
